Antonín Dvořák Prize of the Dvořák American Heritage Association

This year, the year of Czech Music 2024, DAHA awarded its first Antonín Dvořák Prize, an award given to distinguished musicians or artistic institutions for their extraordinary contributions in the field of music of the Czech lands. The Prize is a high quality Czech crystal glass plaque created by the Halama Glass Company. The inscription is as follows: Antonín Dvořák Prize awarded by Dvořák American Heritage Association to Maestro Semyon Bychkov and Česká filharmonie in recognition of their extraordinary contributions to Czech music. Carnegie Hall. December 2024, The Year of Czech Music 2024.   

The award was presented on stage at Carnegie Hall during the evening concert on Thursday, December 5, 2024 on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Dvořák American Heritage Association (DAHA) by Susan Lucak, President and one of the founders of DAHA, and NYU Professor Michael Beckerman, Vice President of DAHA. Present in the Carnegie Hall audience at the award ceremony was Czech President Petr Pavel.
