Violin Virtuoso: Recital by Iskandar Widjaja
From Bach to Dvořák to contemporary living composers, Indonesian-German violin virtuoso Iskandar Widjaja explored a range of classical and non-traditional music on Friday evening, November 1st, in the historic Ballroom of Bohemian National Hall. Iskandar provided a new vibe for DAHA’s audience, capturing meditative sounds that had a transcendental quality and focus, and incorporating personal arrangements and transcriptions. In his New York debut, the stellar young musician demonstrated his special charisma and talent, ending the program by singing to the enthusiastic audience while perched on the edge of the stage. Bravo Iskandar!
